Hi friends! Can you believe we’re almost to the end of April?
The past couple of months have felt so long, and yet, so short at the same time. March and the beginning of April found us cocooning into a sort of early spring hibernation. But more recently, Shea and I have settled into a nice routine and have really been enjoying our time at home – doing more than just sitting on the couch watching movies and eating snacks. And, with the promise of warmer weather on it’s way, I am looking forward to it even more.
I have been dreaming of enjoying dinners and cocktails, full of fresh ingredients, on the porch. Light and breezy dresses to lounge around in. Open windows and fresh air. Beautifully scented candles and diffuser blends wafting through the house. Planting bright and cheery flowers in our planters outside. I truly cannot wait.
Here are a few things I will be adding to our cozy little home in the coming months…
- What to eat: Paninis with fresh basil, tomato, spinach, mozzarella, and olive tapenade. As a side, make a fresh salad of mixed greens with a balsamic vinaigrette.
- What to drink: Aperol spritz. They are so refreshing and light, perfect for warmer months. Try this recipe here.
- What to wear: I just ordered a few new dresses at Old Navy that will be perfect for looking (and feeling) put together, but will be super cozy to hang at home in. Check out this one, this one, and this one.
- What to do: We have been playing scrabble a lot lately. It’s fun and using our brains at the same time, ha! It will also be perfect to play on the porch. No worry of anything blowing away (like playing cards) if it’s a bit breezy.
- Where to be: The front porch. We don’t have a yard, so we use our porch like our patio. I have been looking for different ways to make it a bit more cozy and give us a little more privacy. I think I will add some outdoor curtains like these and some comfy pillows to freshen up the space.
- What to burn/diffuse: Last spring, I picked up this candle and loved it so much I ordered it again this year. In the mornings, I love to diffuse essential oils. My go to for spring and summer is Lemongrass, Lavender, Grapefruit, and Ylang Ylang. The scent is heavenly.
