As you may remember from this post, one of the goals I set for myself this year was to try one new cookie recipe a month. To kick it off I chose this super easy recipe that my mom found on the Rachel Ray Show.
It is a five spice snickerdoodle and it’s as tasty as it is easy. And let me tell you, it’s really easy.
I had them mixed and all baked up in just about an hour. You really can’t ask for more. Not only was it easy to make, they were done within the suggested baking time. No surprises at all.
The end result? A super tasty cookie with a crisp outside and chewy inside.
The dough was easy to mix and not sticky at all. (There is nothing worse than trying to scoop out sticky cookie dough, am I right?) The five-spice powder gives this cookie a subtle flavor twist on the original cinnamon snickerdoodle.
This recipe is a definite keeper! I have to be honest, I always found snickerdoodles to be a bit boring, but this one has changed my mind. I can’t wait to try the cookie base with a few different types of sugar mixtures.
If you make this recipe let me know. I would love to hear how you liked it!
Happy baking!!
