Thursday Thoughts: Seasons Change

I am one of those people who loves all four seasons. I can’t imagine living somewhere that the landscape and the temperature are the same all year long.

I’m not saying that I love the freezing cold temps in the winter or the extremely hot and humid days in the summer, because I sure don’t, but I do look forward to each change.

I always feel revived and excited, like everything is fresh and new. My wardrobe (and style) changes, my home decor changes, the foods I cook change, and my activities change.

With each season I get a new wardrobe, a home refresh, new recipes to make and eat, and a bunch of new things to do on the weekends. All of that newness just by swapping my clothes from the back to the front of my closet, changing some decorations, and digging around in my recipe box. Simple as that. If I didn’t have the seasons to push me into making that change I think I would get into a pretty deep rut. And being in a rut brings me nothing but boredom.

But that’s just me. If you truly hate the change of seasons, instead of letting it annoy you, why not live your favorite season all year? Think about all of the things you love about it and create that feeling every day.

Love summer? Then live it throughout the winter. Have indoor barbecues, decorate your home with palms and flamingos, eat pineapple, and wear bright colors. Whatever it is about it you love, do that! It won’t change the fact that it’s 10 below outside, but at least when you step inside you’ll be transported back to the summertime.

Love winter? Then in the summer when it’s too hot to go outside, hibernate! Light lots of candles, hang some twinkle lights, pop popcorn, and binge watch a bunch of movies. There’s no rule that says you need to be outside as much as possible during the summer months. If you hate the heat, stay inside and get cozy.

I will spare you the rest of the seasons, you get the idea. Just remember, life is no fun when you’re always wishing for something else. Embrace the fun of every season. It’s out there, I promise!Blog SIgnature - c & c
